I think of you / Always with me / I still can't believe last fall you decided to leave / I should have known / That you felt rushed / Next to your tear stained note you left a canvas and a brush / Like an artist / With a clean sheet / Time and colors / Will set you free / A new day's born / And another one is torn / Just like a paper pad you threw away the page you had / What did I do / What did I say / Did a more patient man come and take you away? / Like an artist / With a white canvas sheet / Time and colors / Will set you free / You can create what you want to see / You can be what you want to be / Unless the right one's with you to share in what you love / You'll be living inside an empty frame / Like an artist with a clean sheet / Time and colors / Set you free / The grass is greener until you miss the page you had / It makes me wonder about the life we could have back / And there's still time to paint our Mona Lisa / But first I've got this thing you need to see / Like an artist / I took your white canvas sheet / I made a painting / Of you and me / So come on home now / To the man you set free / Your time and colors / Are all I'll ever need See more at: http://josephpagano.band/

I saw a man with his whole life in a bag / Down at the train station he made his way / Who is he where's he from and where is he going / Maybe to nowhere cause that's where he's from / Slowly stepping to the beat of his drum / Thinking of myself and how I compare with him / I am feeling lost / He knows where he's going / Mr. homeless man he's on to something / Small sense of urgency and a big sense of pride / How many men can say that all their possessions? / Fit in a bag with no loose ends / With no reminders of their past sins / All life's clutter and the senseless emotion / Money greed and judging things just don't bring us closer / Sometimes it feels I'm going through the motions / Chasing shiny things and burning through time / The simple life it has its advantages / Something that I strive for when I lose my way / Thank you homeless man for the lesson today / That Mr. Homeless man he's on to something / That most of us take a lifetime to find / So next time I'm down at the station / When the crowds are rushing and the mood is uptight / I'll be walking at the pace of his stride / Thinking of myself and what I'll do differently / Wonder if he knows that he's blessed with simplicity / Mr. Homeless man you taught me something / There's more important things than a place in line / It's about how you fit your life in a bag See more at: http://josephpagano.band/

Sometimes I wonder if the feeling's gone / Since you moved away last summer and you dyed your hair blond / You say all the right words when we're talking on the phone / But what I really want to know when I get you alone / If you love me then hug me / Say you miss me then kiss me / Don't tease me if you need me / Just squeeze me when you see me / Cause there's 16 other ways to spend my time / I got 16 other ways to spend my time / I can mow the lawn / I can feed the dog / I can take a walk / I can write a song / I can wash my car then drive it real far / I can swim in the lake and catch a rattle snake / I can read a book / I can learn how to cook / Take a 2 week cruise / Drink plenty of booze / I can dance till midnight / Bask in the moonlight / Hang with the boys and make some rock and roll noise / I got 16 other ways to spend my time / If I'm the one for you then give me a sign / Give me a sign that’s right / Give me a clue I'm really into you / But this friendship thing is like auditioning / I want to hold your hand / I want to take a stand / But I hope you're not insulted and you understand / I got 16 other ways to spend my time / If I'm the one for you and your love is true then give me a sign / Give me a sign / And I'll make you mine / So if you love me then hug me / Say you miss me then kiss me / Don’t tease me if you need me / Just squeeze me when you see me / Cause there's 16 other ways to spend my time / The clock ain't ticking backwards / So give me a sign / I got 16 other ways to spend my time / And I'd love to spend it all with you till the end of time / And make you mine / Just give me a sign / Just give me a sign See more at: http://josephpagano.band/

She lived in a world with love and pain / With things that she’d rather not explain / Like losing her innocence so young / Becoming a teen age mom / She raised a boy all by herself / She sent him away to go find his self / She said take the world with all your flare / Remember the words that we shared / Candles hope and faith / Will dry the tears off of your face in your darkest days / Candles hope and faith / Will make the world a better place in your memories / He calls it the information age / But sometimes he feels like he lives in a cage / She e-mails from an internet apart / With pictures of broken hearts / Candles hope and faith / Can put a smile back on your face when the clouds all clear / Candles hope and faith / Do what words can never say in a world away / He wished upon a shooting star / That she won’t ever forget about the angels by her side / Every day a new dream is born / And with it his new doors will open with time / She lived in a place where people need / A glimmer of light and dignity / She was laid to rest doing what she loved / Caring for children of God / Candles hope and faith / Will make the world a better place in your memories / Candles hope and faith / Can bring the tears of joy to your face in your living days / Candles hope and faith / Do what words can never say in a world away / Candles hope and faith / Can turn your world into a place with harmony See more at: http://josephpagano.band/

FULFILLING HIS EMPOWERING BELIEF THAT “LIFE IS
A BLANK CANVASS AND WE ARE THE ARTISTS,”
SINGER/SONGWRITER JOE PAGANO
EXPLORES ‘TIME AND COLORS’ ON HIS NEW EP,
FOLLOW UP TO HIS SUCCESSFUL DEBUT
‘GRAVEYARD OF DREAMS’

Since making the key decision to start fulfilling some long set aside musical dreams, Joe Pagano has been an unstoppable force as an indie singer-songwriter, quickly following the critical raves and multiple market college and mainstream airplay success of his early 2015 debut EP Graveyard of Dreams with his new eclectic five track set Time and Colors. Perfectly in line with the lyrical concept of the edgy, provocative title track, the multi-talented artist fulfills his long held empowering belief that “life is a blank canvas and we are the artists deciding what to put on it.” The EP finds the artist resisting the temptation to repeat himself, instead expanding the diversity of styles that he loves to write and play, from American Roots and country to alternative and harder rock.

When he released Graveyard of Dreams, the focal story on Pagano was the fact that he had achieved varying degrees of success years ago in college and beyond, both live and on disc, with bands like Straight Shoot’r, N-Kuntrol and Profile – but he gave it up for the safer life of a software career. Inspired by Berklee College of Music Professor Pat Pattison and a musical workshop and the life changing encouragement by guitar legend Stanley Jordan, Pagano – as part of his online Berklee course – wrote “Graveyard of Dreams,” which gave rise to a full-fledged EP.

Just a few months down the road, the narrative has changed dramatically. The EP hit the Top 5 in radio play at the New Jersey college station WGLS and hit the Top 20 at stations in several markets, including Ft. Lauderdale, FL Galloway, NJ and Glassboro, NJ. Beyond these spins, the buzz from indie reviewers has been off the charts. Skope Mag said that Graveyard of Dreams “taps into the best of Americana,” while The Miews wrote that it “borrows from the vintage sounds of greats like The Beatles, Springsteen and even shows hints of Randy Travis (vocally).” Rockwired made note of Pagano’s powerful composing skills, calling the set “a heart-on-the-sleeve rock album that mixes storytelling with fine songcraft.” Cross Radar dubbed it a “set of imaginative songs to get you in the mood for the summer while we make our way through these winter months.”

The good news is, summer’s here, and on Time and Colors, Pagano keeps challenging himself and his newfound fans to find fresh adjectives to describe the way he blends his crisp, pointed songwriting skills with a freewheeling desire to transcend genre trappings. With its distinct American Roots vibe, “Life in a Bag” is a fascinating sociological observational study of a homeless guy at an NYC train station looking carefree while people swarm around him, looking worried and rushing on with their lives. The fiery country-rocker “16 Other Ways” takes a humorous look at a man’s inner debate about being friends or more than friends with a special girl.” By reworking his older tunes, the poignant “Candles Hope and Faith” (whose stripped down original version appeared on Graveyard of Dreams) and the comical blistering rocker “Mamma Don’t Call Me Home” (about kids playing “Ding Dong Ditch” on his block), Pagano shows that, in addition to “painting” songs on a canvas from scratch, he also enjoys adding different feelings and colors to already existing works of his.

In July 2015, he attended a songwriting seminar conducted by Tom Shapiro, a renowned Nashville based songwriter who has penned 26 #1 hits. Shapiro’s wisdom included the notion that what you leave out of a song is just as important as what you put in whereas songwriters sometimes put all the furniture in the song. Measuring the songs on Time and Colors against these pearls of wisdom from a master, Pagano is happy to note, “I have to say that I left the furniture out of some of these songs, leaving some things unresolved by design to further provoke the listener - so I hope I am on the right track!”
